Early Education Reform Group EERG

Using play to create a Child-Centered Curriculum in the early years of school.

The more slowly trees grow at first, the sounder they are at the core. David Sobel

Putting play back into Prep.
Enriching early years schooling through playful teaching approaches.

We are a group who have come together, through our shared conviction about the value and importance of play to children’s all-round development and education.

In various ways, we aim to build on Lil Gwyther’s work, and provide a “meeting place” for like-minded friends who, for a range of reasons, have expressed interest in maintaining the place of play in young children’s lives and education. Lil was a tireless advocate and activist for the place of play in early childhood education.

This community is growing, and includes:

  • Early childhood educators
  • Parents and families
  • Graduate teachers
  • Recipients of the “Lil Gwyther Award for Exellence”
  • Early Childhood teacher educators
  • Leaders of community organizations
  • School principals
  • Union leaders
